Curly87
its the 6 shot, 3" chamber model, it seems to me that the magazine catch doesnt stop the second shell, so it tries to put 2 in at a time, thinking of that i might try and only put 3 or 4 shells in the magazine so that the spring is under less pressure might not push them out so fast and as for the bolt slaming forward im pretty sure it always does as i just press the catch on the side that releases the bolt, ill be more aware of it now tho and make sure each time ah well i can always take it back to the shop like u said, its already been back once because of the locking bolt shearing off all fun and games
person22
georgie nice guns, when you clean your semi's do u only clean the barrel after use or take the whole lot apart, actually ill start a topic about it dont worry about it on this topic
Lord Geordie
georgie nice guns, when you clean your semi's do u only clean the barrel after use or take the whole lot apart, actually ill start a topic about it dont worry about it on this topic Normally the barrels only unless it's the Escort Most people leave them for 3 trips or so before cleaning the barrels and the actions of the gas operated ones. Beauty about these recoil ones is NO gas gets onto the mag chamber etc so THAT part don't need cleaned as often as Gas operated ones All my guns are stripped and cleaned after EVERY trip even if i only fired 5 rounds through it. Just had a letter from my Police Headquarters today asking how i got 12 shotguns into a 5 gun cabinet Told them over the phone i have a new cabinet but she wasn't convinced Have to write them a letter i think. Maybe a few drawings incase they don't beleive me No doubt i will receive a snap visit to verify my claim on the new cabinet. Already need ANOTHER though. There is no law on having 20 shotguns surely?? LG
pavman
LG How do you get on with the Hatsan, I was looking for a modest priced semi for wildfowling as I hate getting the Franchi wet with salt marsh poo, I have a nice 10 bore I got from Henry D and cant wait to take it out but the bulk of my shooting is duck which the Raptor is perfect for, I also use it for woodie bashing. I have been told the Hatsan can jam a lot but with 3.5 cart option its a cheapy for the job.....whats your view plz pavman
Lord Geordie
Pav Gods honest truth i have had NO trouble with mine except it don't like 28G loads but considering it's set for 66g 3&1/2" mags i aint suprised Cycles 32g up fine NEVER jammed on me using 32s up and what i mean by jam with 28 was the recoil wasn't sufficient enough to FULLY cycle the action back so the empty didn't clear before the full round was trying to load They locked horns in the receiver Other than that with the lights i have NO trouble with it. Even if i did it would just go back to the gun shop 3 years warranty aint bad for the price Other reasons for Jamming is Dirty Cartridges even a small amount of grit or dirt on a cartridge. My mate dropped 2 of his gave them a quick wipe and put them in the mag and they get stuck as they hit the lift because the grit snaggs on the mag tube Takes seconds to sort and if kept clean no trouble at all. I am totally happy with mine LG
pavman
Thanks thats good news on options later, only probs so far with my Raptor is it hates Game Bore Clear Pigeon 30g for some reason? jams all the time, put anyting else 30g up not a problem have you shot a full range of carts through Hatsan as in makes/weight 2.75 up to 3.5 ? cheers pavman
dunganick
georgie nice Just had a letter from my Police Headquarters today asking how i got 12 shotguns into a 5 gun cabinet Told them over the phone i have a new cabinet but she wasn't convinced Have to write them a letter i think. Maybe a few drawings incase they don't beleive me No doubt i will receive a snap visit to verify my claim on the new cabinet. Already need ANOTHER though. There is no law on having 20 shotguns surely?? LG me and my old man got pulled up on the storeage thing when i applied for my variation. our collection is as large as yours it is at the moment 7 shotguns, 4 centerfire rifles, 3rimfires, and a handful of air rifles/pistols, this was shared between two safe's untill recently. Now we have installed a 3rd. They did not want proof that we had installed this safe (also installed becuase of my turning 17 so shared storeage not allowed with FAC items) we also have 1 more shotgun and another centerfire on the way, so i suspect we will draw their attention again shortly. But they really dont seem to be too concerned with checking we have actually correctly installed the safe or even got it. Just want our word for it. no law on having 20 shotguns, you dont need a reason to own them, so buy away
Dunkield
Thanks thats good news on options later, only probs so far with my Raptor is it hates Game Bore Clear Pigeon 30g for some reason? Pavman, I had problems with my Beretta O/U not ejecting clear winners, which was a shame as I quite liked them, but the plastic on a lot of Gamebore shells can be very uneven. I sent a whole load back once and they gave me a replacement box and a letter of appology. It may just be that, it is quite hard to see but it almost like the plastic is too soft as you can feel the outline of the shot from outside of the cartridge.
