yickdaz
me and the old fella shot on a flightline, at the face of a big wood, every year around this time they use the wood as a cross over point, then head to the surrounding fields on the standing wheat, we could decoy them on the wheat but don,t want damage the wheat on this particular permission, anyhow the shooting is to good to pass up on the flightline. we split up 100 yards apart on 2 of about 4 flightlines heading over the wood, all afternoon high bird after high bird came over us,and more often than not came down, my own own highlight was when i was on the mobile a pigeon came straight at me raised the gun with one hand swung through it and it dropped stone dead brilliant days sport. we had around 90 down but picked

caeser
It must be great to be able to shoot a decent quantity of birds that you can retrieve at this time of year when the crops are standing. I've always said a woodpigeon is a much harder bird to shoot than any pheasant. :good:
