Cannon
How dangerous would it be to use an air rifle?? Only problem with poisoning is the retrieval of the birds if they die in an awkward spot. Bird of prey would do the job no doubt, but could be expensive to hire. I'd try a large owl decoy mate. Seemed to do the job in my mates garden. They are available from the bay for less that £10 posted. Worth a shot.

So are you shooting them or not? Built up area should be fine as long as you keep safe and make sure of a decent back stop. But you already seem to have been shooting them so you should be ok? Keep at them and it'll soon diminish thier numbers. How are you disposing of them?

What type of owl? as my mum wants woodies out her garden and I said to get a Peregrine decoy but they are £30.
.philmypower.
Live traps, had great success with them but birds must have access to water & traps checked every 24hrs

Was shooting them but the person Im doing it for doesnt want them shoot while their neighbours are in incase they report it.There is a good backstop,if there wasnt I wouldnt have been shooting them with the air rifle in the first place. So the only problem with shooting is the neighbours reporting it.

If you or the person you're doing it for is concerned about the neighbours, maybe consider contacting the local police to let them know what you're upto, that way, if any residents decide to phone there will be little chance of the rozzers turning up and pointing 'proper' guns at you My comments above are just an idea, but at the end of the day if the person you're doing it for isn't keen on shooting then the methods offered so far would be a good start. Where is it you're trying to get rid of them? Are they indoors also? Lamping them at night? Scott

Great horned owl with a head that moves with the slightest breeze and also has reflective eyes. Keeps everything out of his garden, although this also applies to song birds. It's recommended to move it maybe once a week to keep it looking lively.
