Tiger955i
Hi All I have been quoted by a local shop £43.00 for 500 Winchester sub sonic .22LR. they also quoted me £50.00 for 500 SK sub sonic. Whilst the Winchester work perfectly well in my CZ and as they say "if it aint broke don't fix it" I may well stick with them. I just wondered if any of you use the SK as I have never heard of them and I would be interested to hear how you rate them. I may just pick up 50 and see how I get on with them, it wont do any harm. TaxiDriver
So the ones at £4.30 a box work perfectly ? Are the ones costing £5.00 a box going to work better ? Another 70p better ?

Gimlet
I use Sk all the time in my HW60. They're Lapua rounds and very accurate particularly at longer ranges. Out to 60 yrds there's not much to choose between Win and SK. Different story at 100 yds, at least in my rifle. The nose hollow on SKs is much smaller than the Winchesters and they can over penetrate at shorter ranges. If you regularly shoot .22lr beyond 80 yds, SKs well worth trying. But try a box any way. Your rifle may love them.

Dekers
Rimfires as well as centrefires have a habit of liking different ammo, potentially even two rifles off the production line next to each other. By all means try as many types of ammo as you can find, but another persons experiences in their rifle may well NOT apply to you!

ATB SK are Lapua! Totally awesome my favourite at range they are unbeatable in my gun. Not good if your a chest shooter on bunnies though compared to winnies or CCi segmenting they zip through. At 50yds i can hardly tell the difference in any of the top brands but extend to 100 and the difference realy shows
Tiger955i
HI all Many thanks for your all replies and comments. The RFD had said that they were Lapua. You have confirmed my thoughts, for the sake of a fiver it could be perfect to amazing. I do prefer to go for head shots anyway so if they tighten my groups by even 1/4" they will be worth it. I will pick up a box and report how I get on. Thanks again, this is why I like P.W. ATB
dadioles
I only buy the SK subs for my two CZ's. Winchester were good but the SK had the edge on consistency and accuracy particularly as distance increases. When you find a bullet that suits your gun, stick to it. beanieboy
I use Remington Subs as I find them very accurate and they bolt well through my CZ - Eley are very tight, Winnies case sticks in chamber after firing, CCI are also a bit on the tight side - Remmies are the only round that have cycled really well so far. I wouldn't mind trying SK's if I could get them in N Ireland. Interesting that the original poster mentioned the small hollow point on the SK's, this is also the case with the Remmies and this, coupled with their harder type lead head, makes the Remmies over penetrate.
