Brown Sauce
May even try to call in with a clam squeaker, get them nice and close, then blam. Back in the real world. The cockles were delicious, made up a dip of mayonnaise, lemon juice and garlic. Mussles were really soft and tender, possible the best I've ever had and they were free. Makes them even sweeter. All washed down with a bottle of Sol, smashing...

activeviii
hoseloc spray with a bag of salt in it. top up with 1 litre of warm water to help dissolve the salt. go to beach where razors are and find their burrow, spray salt down hole and wait for the clam to come up like a Polaris to spit the salt out. grab and pull slowly. Brown Sauce
This Friday, 2.62m low tide at 1.34pm on Oxwich bay. This time them razors don't stand a chance I'm thinking of firing up the bbq with the griddle plate, mixing up some garlic, olive oil and a pinch of chilli, as they open pouring over, cook through and serve. Any other suggestion for the bbq option??

Thunderbird
I have it on good authority that Brown Sauce and Brown Sauce Senior got a decent haul of mussels, cockles and razors (24) on the Gower yesterday at low tide. A happy coincidence then that I'm down there tomorrow being godfather at Brown Sauce Junior's christening. All the good godfathers were already taken apparently. the pelt man
This Friday, 2.62m low tide at 1.34pm on Oxwich bay. This time them razors don't stand a chance I'm thinking of firing up the bbq with the griddle plate, mixing up some garlic, olive oil and a pinch of chilli, as they open pouring over, cook through and serve. Any other suggestion for the bbq option?? I've been going down the Gower for years and mainly Oxwich Bay but fed up with the Jet Ski's going round and round Anyway, always got the Razors and Cockels with wild Garlic up the hill side. I saw some Chinks with small ali spades and they showed me what they were after, all these years and right under my feet i never new CLAMS :o , black shells the size of a iphone I got a small spade the next day and had a go, look for a hole that you can push your index finger down. Dig straight down i'd say about a foot to 18 inch's and there laying flat you will find a nice big clam . Collected a dozen last time i was there, steamed in white wine and wild garlic with crusty bread Give it a go PELTY
Thunderbird
Got to give those a go. Do you have to wait for a very low tide?
