I come close in one farm the lady of the house answered and she said no, she also said that had it been my husband who you spoke to he may of said yes, I'm not into shooting!!! The search continues.........

southeastpete
also, when i've been asking recently, i know they'll have had alot asking through summer. Probably took on a few, some who may not be great so far. So i approach saying, i know you probably have someone, but if you neec more, or more just through winter etc, so can i leave you my details? A short note with name number, that you are licenced, insured, experienced, and will always ring or txt to let them know your about to go. I have had 2 say probably over christmas i can start as their rape starts getting hit hard. If i can go twice a week to each of those through winter, and show more willing than their other shooters, i will be kept on...

rallyrus
I've had some of those cards made up off them, put a couple in the local farm shop. Must get in the habit of giving one out each time I ask somewhere. It's all hill farms round me no arable land so no pigeons to go at just rabbits etc and there's not many of them Will keep at it

rallyrus
Well gents I may of had a change of luck today decided to call in a old farm, have been meaning to for a while but never have. I used to shoot there with the air rifle when I was a lad from when I was about 12 til 15 then I moved house, its only about 6 miles away but obviously back then I couldn't get there. Anyway called in today, had a good chat with the farmer about what i've been upto over the years etc and then got onto shooting, said I had the air rifle and the SG, lurchers & ferrets, he said there's a few bunnies about and pointed out where to find them, I then mentioned foxes and wanting to apply for my fac and he said great, he used to have someone go there with a rifle but they havn't been for a few years, so he said there's quite a few about, he said no problem to put him down on the application there's a couple of hundred acres on the mountain Calling there again tomorrow to sort permission slip etc I'm well chuffed!! Thats two farms and the land I have at home so fingers crossed for getting my fac, just hope they'll give me a cf for foxing

Have fun mate. haha very true, get my application off this week and wait for what will probably seem forever I'm going to keep on trying aswell tho as it'd be nice to have somewhere with plenty of rabbits about to go at. Anyone under the north wales region know what the wait is on a application going through?
vengeance111
do you need a permission slip ?. I was aware that for airguns and shotguns you just needed verbal permission ?
rallyrus
I've never bothered before but as on the fac application you need to put the land down, I got the permission slips filled in and then photo copied them and put them in with my appliction. Could only just fit there names in the box on the form never mind a whole address!
Frenchieboy
do you need a permission slip ?. I was aware that for airguns and shotguns you just needed verbal permission ? I don't think you legally require a premission slip for a shotgun of air rifle permission but it "could" be advisable to have one to save any potential problems at a later date or to accompany a new shotgun certificate application.
