Good man that is probably called 'the old fashioned way' as most people seem to use those bolies for carp fishing
young airgunner
i hate boilies, there banned at most lakes near me but you still get the odd few that use them

Ferret Master
Hi, The fishing season. They changed the law allowing stillwaters to permit fishing all year round but rivers are closed for coarse fishing from the 15th of March till the 16th of June I think. Each to their own but I choose not to fish when the fish are spawning. FM
young airgunner
i didnt catch it from a river, i caught it from a lake which is perfectly legal and allowed
Maori Haz
Yeah me neither FM, in a private club so i can do a bit of fishing there it's really good, big chub, trout , bream, carp and roach and perch.. It's great there and because i am the only young member, if i catch ANY fish (which i have before) i get the young members biggest fish caught there trophy Lol, anyway well done mate hopefully many more in the future :yp: Haz :o
Ferret Master
i didnt catch it from a river, i caught it from a lake which is perfectly legal and allowed :yp: Hi, I guessed that. Harry, I have put some pros to shame more than once. Trevor West takes people on my stretch of the river for a fee and they think that they own the place because they have paid £50 for the day. They have been there since the crack of dawn and had a 2lb chub and a small barbel to show for their efforts and they acted all patronizing showing it to me. So I told them that we had 2 13lb+ barbel out the swim a week earlier after Trevor had left and chucked all his groundbait in. They were 2 of 4 double figure barbel caught that season by me and my Dad using a 30 year old fibreglass rod and the pros couldn't believe it and when my Dad said he was thinking about upgrading his gear they said if you can catch them on that don't bother! :o . :o I got on Tight Lines the angling programme on Sky Sports for one of the Barbel I caught. :o I had some very decent Chub last season spinning upstream in a ft and a half of water in the evenings or with a dead minnow on a size 14 barbless hook and a waggler that I had caught it on. No self respecting adult would have fished there but I did and put them all to shame. :o I love fishing and am getting all a twitch in anticipation of the forth coming season. Maori Haz
we have VERY good barbel here aswell, i think the biggest river caught barbel was caught there, but i may be wrong, so i will ask when i next fish it.. very big though. River Mole (tributary of Thames). I am hoping to go out a lot more often this season, because last season i was busy with exams Oh well Haz
