markbivvy
http://www.kwacs.org.uk/Youngshotlaw.htm SHOTGUNS :- Under 15 :- You can only shoot under the direct supervision of an adult over 21. Age 15 to 17 :- You can be loaned or given a shotgun and cartridges but you cannot purchase them. You can use a shotgun without supervision provided you have a current shotgun certificate. NB :- A shotgun certificate is required at any age unless the following applies :- You are shooting with the occupier of land and using their gun, in their presence and on their land or you are shooting at a police approved Clay shoot. The highlighted bit was changed to 18 years old to purchase a shotgun. I think it was last year they changed it. atb mat
markbivvy
I do apologise Big M. Your quite right young man. AGES 15 - 18 A person between 15 and 18 years of age may be given or lent a shotgun and ammunition BUT HE/SHE MAY NOT BUY THEM. A person of 18 years of age may use a shotgun without supervision PROVIDING HE/SHE HOLDS A VALID SHOTGUN CERTIFICATE.

PotHunter96
so can an under 18 year old be gifted more than one shotgun for instance if a young shooter wanted a game gun but then decided to get into clay shooting and wanted a clay gun. or can a young person only be gifted one shotgun
demonwolf444
Pretty sure it is this: Certificate granted at any age in theory. Cannot have anything on your cert untill you are 15. 15 you can be givven a shotgun as a gift. and 15 you can use a shotgun without supervision, on land where you have permission from the land owner to shoot. you can be gifted more than one shotgun Edited January 8, 2012 by demonwolf444
