ilovemyheckler
Anyone done this themselves? If so how do you do it? before I try one of my coats I thought I would try the overtrousers first as this might be easier. Any advice - do's and dont's would be appreciated. Thanks
TJ91
I got some barbour thornproof wax (in a green tin) heated it with hairdryer and rubbed it in by hand... Worked a treat on my cheap wax jacket. looked fine after it soakd in.
Gutty Boots
Heat the tin of wax in a bowl full of hot water. Rub the melted wax into the jacket with a cloth, pay extra attention to the higher abrasion areas, seams etc. It can help if you get somebody to wear the jacket while you do this. When you are happy the whole jacket is done, go over it all with a hair dryer on med/high to produce an even finish.
keg
I've done my old Gamefair several times and the above is exactly right. Just do it flat on the table or floor if you can't get anyone to wear it. After the hair dryer has gone ove rit, it's as good as new!. Catweazle
Don't put too much wax on, or it will go stiff in cold weather.
