glad to hear it , how long did it take ?

from initial sending of my application to arrival of cert. was around 6 weeks. not bad considering my feo told me during my interview that their workload had doubled and their staff had been halved due to cutbacks....bit of praise for the norfolk firearms dept. i reckon. :good:

Even better it fits but you just dont like the wood/engraving and start all over again, before going back to the first one....

thats the way :good: ....if i had a quid for every time my mrs has done this to me buying clothes....i could probably go out and buy a new range rover with the money...

It comes down to fit, but I would look at beretta, miroku, browning if I was you...

this was my original thinking....but now im not so sure. lots of cheap guns out there from what im seeing.

now, i know beretta, browning and miroku are the big 3 for quality and build....but there must be other reputable makes surely...?? i just dont want to go out and spend more cash than i have to.....tighter than a gnats chuff me !!:yes:

for the money Lanber are good guns..I would highly recommend!

Or laurona and baikal...good solid guns for not a lot of money.

My baikal was old, well used and abused but I have no doubt it would of done me many more years...but I get bord and swap guns an awful lot (biggest regret selling the baikal)

In that case I've ot about another month to wait before mine comes through as I live roughly in the same area....

I'm finding it really hard to be patient, I've already become an habitual gunshop visitor, I think I'm addicted......

"are we nearly there yet....?"

Keep looking and do not be rushed, try as many guns as you can at your local clay shoots.

Do not buy a gun just because it has the right name or pretty wood and and engraving, it is more important that it fits you.

Are you going to the Dereham shoot organised by Hitsclays?, there will be plenty of guns you can try there and see what it is you like or dislike.

I would be happy to take a Browning, Lanber, E Rizzini and a Hatsan semi auto for you to try if you want, plus the other happy shooters would no doubt let you have a go of their guns.

The shoot is on December 11th, give it a try, even with your new gun if you cannot wait that long to buy one (and who would blame you :lol: )

well....i took the plunge finally today and put a deposit down on a gun. an original budget of £1000 got steadily whittled away to £700....so looked at the second hand market and, after shouldering a few in the shop,i went for a macnab lowlander. the gun felt right....nicely balanced and a good weight for me personally.....not to heavy and not to light. chokes and an abs case chucked in to.... £625 ...happy days !! :good: lets hope it proves a wise decision.
