rabbit_stu
Hi Guys, Didn't know what furum to put this in so sorry if its the wrong one. Could anyone point me in the right direction for a fairly cheap 3 gun cabinet. I've seen two on ebay near to me but unfortunalty both removed early. If anyone has one fore sale I'd be very interested. thanks Stu
apache
Listen to me when I say - buy a big one! Decide what you want and double it. Going a size or two up isn't going to cost you that much more now and you'll loose less when you want a bigger one! I started with a 3 gun, sold it and bought a 6 gun. Then added to the 6 gun a 5 gun. Then got the 5 gun extended to hold 8 and I'm back to full capacity. If I could fit another cabinet in I would! HDAV
I bought a 5 gun and although there are only 2 shotties and my air rilfe in it I wouldnt want to put much more in, a friend has a 3 gun and 2 is tight. Have a look online but with P&P i got mine from sportmans in newport for less than the best price i find brand new, if you have a bigish car then there is sportsmans in exeter and one in dorset. Try a wanted add here they crop up from time to time (usually people upgrading to a larger one!) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/gun-cabinet-shotgun-rifle-/170714428601?pt=UK_SportingGoods_Hunting_ShootingSports_ET&hash=item27bf5f74b9#ht_500wt_997
rabbit_stu
thanks, I've put a bid in for this one as i really do intend on only getting two rifles for now. And space a limit too. thanks for the replies
HDAV
OK for scoped rifles you need a deeper cabinet than you would for shotguns, also you need a seperately lock amo cabinet/safe you can get cabinets with internal locking compartments or a second safe for ammo This is the normal thing http://www.guncabinetsdirect.co.uk/JFC-4-6-Gun-Lock-Top-Shotgun-Cabinets-p/jfc%20gb4%206dlt.htm or http://www.djsproducts.com/product.php?product_id=72 and http://www.guncabinetsdirect.co.uk/Buffalo-River-QB23EF-G-p/buffalo%20river%20qb23ef-g.htm
rabbit_stu
ah right, so would the ebay one be no good for a max of two rifles? BEcause of the scopes? I have the seperate safe already. thanks
TaxiDriver
ah right, so would the ebay one be no good for a max of two rifles? BEcause of the scopes? I have the seperate safe already. thanks If you buy to small a cabinet then you'll be forever knocking the scopes and possibly knocking them off zero whilst getting them in/out the cabinet. You will keep knocking them and putting dinks/scratches in the stocks. And as for only intending to get x(small) number of guns, thats what we all think to start. Buy BIG buy ONCE !! welshwarrior
You need deep cabinets for scoped rifles, My 2-3 gun old cabinet would only fit 1 rifle so now have 1 deep 6 gun and a normal 6 gun they get tight so have my 'best 2 guns in the old one :good:
HDAV
I have a bratton sound ST% standard shotgun safe and my HW95 with 3-9x40 scope just fits in (but i never really use it anymore so doesnt come out often!) if you have ammo safe then you need a cabinet big enough for intended rifle and scope. These tend to start round the 4/6 gun capacity http://www.djsproducts.com/product.php?product_id=72 or http://www.sportsmanguncentre.co.uk/product/554b23622b0bc67402655772/Vogue+6+Gun+Cabinet+With+Shelf+Extra+Deep+DP6/ Rifle will fit but put a decent scope on top and suddenly its tight or wont at all. Smog On Tyne
I got mine out of the Ad Mag for £50. I was messed about by someone on Ebay after arranging to collect three times only to be cancelled I told him to put back on Ebay. For the cartridges I have some old army mortar boxes that lock.
