Macs first duck

Went out with Rab the other evening and didnt take Mac,and came home with two mallard and a cushie.Nay many came in but a nice wee bag,and Mac asked if he could go for a chance at a duck before the holidays finished so headed out this evening after fishing. We were late kind and just settling in when a pair of mallard came from behind, and i saluted with both barrels for zero result which wasnt a good start. For the next few minutes wee parties circled but ended up dropping into another pond about 400 yards away, but 8 came skimming in low and just above the horizon.Once the had set and just before losing them below the skyline i took a bird and on the shot it dropped, and as planned Mac got onto a rising duck.I watched the nearest one crossing right to left waiting for the shot and when it did come the result was a broken wing and a downed drake mallard.I put Rab out straight away and when he came back with it Macs face was a picture.Plenty others were moving after that but darkish for shooting.Once again Macs wearing a perma-grin and quite right.

A few pics of todays fishing.Ended up landing 3 sea troot and a 7lb salmon.Fish splashing everywhere but very dour and frustrating to say the least.Had to chap the salmon on the heed with it bleeding, another downfall with lure fishing at this time in the season.

After reading all of the threads about yours and Macs "exploits" I often think how wonderful it would have been if I had had a father like you, the both of you seem to have such a great relationship together, a real pleasure to see!

The smile on Mac's face in the last photo says it all mate, well done that young lad! :good::good::good::good::good:

Only one question Dave, what's with making Mac carry your gun as well as his own? :hmm: Are you getting tired and week in your old age?:lol::lol:

Cheers Frenchie.I remember how much i liked being oot with the old fella at Macs age and hope Mac feels the same.Only right he should carry ma gun if hes on my ground, lol.

Well done :good: Great pics

Ta fella.Think a pic tells more than words do.

Well done Mac :good: :good: :good: I see he doesn't need those fancy sticky oot chokes Dave :P

Ta Tam.He does need them as i wouldnt have had to put Rab oot for the duck if he had extended fancy sticky oot thingys. It actually had 5 pellets in it so he was pretty bang on.
