Hate this wait !!!

Mine was cashed on the 10th of august. Since then I've heard note. Never mind, more I wait he more I have saved up ready for shopping :)

Maybe worth giving them a ring, Dan, I talked to them about 2 weeks ago about my clearance for membership of a target rifle club, and they said the current wait was 10-12 week max, yours might have slipped down the pile. They are a friendly enough bunch, (as long as you don't give them grief), but I know that cutbacks and staff sickness have reduced their staffing significantly. The lincs police firearms licencing dept phone no is 01522 - 558533. I rang them (politely)every 4 weeks till I got mine, no problems. Hope you get sorted soon. :good:

edit: PS, you need your licence ready for the Newark shooting show, for some serious shopping!

Yer I have rang them. He said he put a mark on it to show priority or something. Said there is nothing else he can do as it's out with the feo chap. Just gotta keep waiting. More I wait the more, more money saved and I get to use other people's guns, get a feel for what I want. At the mo, I'm set on a silver pigeon 1 or a 686, was Miroku but there weight is rather heavy compared. It takes longer for some checks to be done. If it's not here by 4 I'll put a complaint in as we are paying for a service we arnt receiving. He did seem to cheer up after I was talking about the cuts and said my uncle works there as a call takerand funny enough knew of him. I think he said it was a chap called simon that will be seeing me? He's fairly new apparently and that's why theres a back log

By the way , when is said shooting show ?

DON'T! :o

You'll just annoy them, and then you'll go to the bottom of the pile.

Mine took 5 months - yes, FIVE MONTHS - to come through. You have just got to wait, same as everyone else :good:

It takes the Mick tho. This is no kind of public service, although sometimes there helpful , when you actually get through that is. 5 months is unreal. That's along time waiting for what is about 5/6 checks , and an interview , yer I no there's some paper work. Even by post it's quicker than this an half of this I bet is by email. Which is near on instant if they check it. We get hell of a lot of work out in 5 months, say a 40 hour week, that's 800 hours work in 5 months. Really how long does it actually take for 1 sgc to be sorted if all was in 1 go ? I don't no on this but I'm sure there being worked to the bone, half haven't done a good days work in them. Moaning doesn't get us nowhere so all we can do is wait, that's why I have to see it the other way so to speak, or I'd go nuts. So here's my saying in this case "the longer the wait the sweeter the reward will be." as you got more money saved, more experience had and the feeling knowing you made the right choice when it finally comes to shopping day as you have a better gun and say 1000 carts ready to go.

Not that this helps you but I was told once your cheque has been cashed as long as u don't muck up the interview you will get your licence. I'm in manchester and exactly 2 weeks from posting application I got a call from the FEO and a week later he's in my living room. 6 days later (TODAY) my licence turned up. One day under a month for a first time applicant. Very pleased with GMP. Top service. I'm now sat here shotgun in hand staring at it and constantly messing with it. Hang in there and try to be patient. It tore me to pieces waiting a month. You have my sympathy mate

My FEO was Phill Gossage - Top chap! :good: I think one of the three FEO's has been very ill with a significant time off. When it's only one of three, they obviously cannot do more than 2/3 of the capacity of what they did before, maybe this Simon is a new guy brought in to help them catch up?

maybe see you there.

Kent are now approaching 4 1/2 months. My FAC variation took three months, and my friend Terry put his in for a variation on the 23rd July and is STILL waiting, when he rang to enquire,he was told "we are just starting on Augusts, yours has been done and is waiting to be printed out" that was Tuesday last week!

Alan

Just thought, we only pay £50 for five years, that's £10 per year.I'd be willing to pay a lot more IF,IF, we got a better service.

Looks good, it should be through by then, that would of been 7 nearly 8 months. I'll order some tickets on next weeks wages. Do you get good deals on cartridges and things there.? I'll know to save up more then. Get a few thousand

Same I'd pay more if we got some decent times and service.

Well if it makes you feel better, I sent my renewal papers away at the beginning of august.

I have just received my second temporary cert as my full SGC ran out on the 18th september.

I also had my visit a couple of weeks ago and was told then that it would still be a couple of months before I got my renewal through.
