il cacciatore
Am I correct in saying that if I go on holiday I must transfer my shotguns to another SGC holder by writing it on their licence and sending a letter off to the police stating that I've lent them? Thanks.
Hunter
My geuss is you only have to do this if you want to lend them. Would be silly if you have to transfer them everytime you go on holiday

Dead-Eyed Duck
Nope, you don't have to do anything, other than make sure that your standard security arrangements are followed. I stand to be corrected...... Don

Hunter
Funnily enough, I am going to Transylvania. Dracula home :yp: though after 9/11, I wont risk bringing a sharp pencil, let alone silver bullets aboard
Lord Geordie
I was under the impression i had to take them to a RFD or to a Police station and collect them when i return from a holiday? Even if not i think paying for storage for a week is a small price to pay for that added comfort of knowing they are stored elsewhere! Cranfield
If they are stored in a secure cabinet in your home, that is all thats required. You can leave them there in the empty property, for as long as you like. An interesting side issue is, check your House and Contents Insurance Policies. Some Insurance Companies insist on being told if your property is likely to be unoccupied for more than 3 weeks at a time, or for more than 12 weeks in a year.
