ljaddy12 Posted November 1, 2011 Report Share Posted November 1, 2011 my friend done very same thing with his old plastic pigeon shell decoys seems to work fine for him so much so thinking of doing it my self with my old ones curiosly he chose black gloss and stands buy his descision that crows do shine in the sun. PhilR Posted November 1, 2011 Report Share Posted November 1, 2011 Yep, I sprayed some non flocked ones with matt black paint, not that it looks a particularly matt finish. bicykillgaz Posted December 5, 2011 Report Share Posted December 5, 2011 i've just started using pigeons shells sprayed matte black, it certainly gets them intrested i just need some movement in my pattern now to get them to commit a bit more, they come over the woods i shoot quite high on a flightline and plenty slow down and come round for another look but there still a little cautious. i've just ordered 10 flocked decoys which i'm gonna use to bulk up my pattern then remove the shells as i get dead birds. i'm gonna invest in two of them triple motion crow things to get some movement in there too.
