fenboy
The answers to this question are pretty standard Browning /Miroku/ Beretta or for a couple of hundred under your buget Lanber sporting deluxe a very good gun for the price but will not hold value as much as the others ,you really cant go wrong with any of them. 12borejimbo
Same as above, Miroku mk38. Browning 525. Beretta 686 or a Beretta Silver Pigeon 1. I used to have a Lincoln Jubilee Prestige, beautiful gun, bought it mint second hand for £750. New there £1400. Beautiful gun, had to sell it for financial reasons. Regret it very much! wymberley
Unless it must be an OU, a little patience and just a few more £s saved and you have a nice English boxlock SbS.
HDAV
Buy a used one and save 20% depreciation the first time you fire it, also some higher grades better specs around £1k used
BrowningDJC
If an over and under you cant go wrong with a Browning, Miroku or Beretta, new or used.

Agreed or maybe an older Winchester 101 or Nikko. Both these are discontinued models so spares are tricky. A friend of mine use an old Nikko 712, I stood next to him today on a driven day, pheasants fell like rain. I also have had a few shots with it, everything fell. Lovelly old gun A. Have to agree with you, Winchester 101, lovely gun, but may find a lovely Beretta silver pigeon or a Browning 425/525 for the money you'r looking to spend ;) Edited November 8, 2011 by Simon123
