All so on the pressure bar under the rifle was at 150 with 20 shots it went down to 50 bar could this be letting to much air out when it shoots or could it be down to he power. lucas
go to a proffesional gunsmith. Get a good service done at the same time, seals etc. Im guessing its been "over cranked" this may mean the seals have seen better days and worn in no-time. Hence maybe a leak. cliff 87
just rang around and on wonted 125 and the nxt one wonted 60-70 so i rang the gun and fishing shop by mine and he said 3 pound to test the lbs if the rifle if over 12ft will they give my the rifle back to try and fix as you remove the tamper proof cap on the right hand side of the regulator to reveal an allan key
dan-250
Get a chrono that goes on the end of your gun. And do it yourself the Allen key out the side and turn it in to Go down. Out to go up. When I got mine it was 11.6, my dads was 9.5 from factory so turned it up. We got it to 17.8, just to see. Then turned down the 11.5 as pcp's are temperamental and change with the weather. I get a different reading in warm than I do in cold. So for the 40 quid they cost it pays for itself in the end. We've had ours for a year now still going strong and that's been around a bit. Think we got it from Blackpool airguns
cliff 87
sen one for 50 so i will get one, but in the meen time if i take it to the shop and its over will they give it me back
fenboy
Not if they and you have any sense they wont,if they give you it back your in possesion of a illegal weapon and they are knowingly allowing you to have one it could cause all sorts of problems if you are pulled up by the police on the way home the excuse that your going to turn it down yourself will mean nothing, let a professional sort it for you. mossy835
dont think they will give it you back, utill its down to 12ft
jackinbox99
All the shops I know will not give you your gun back if its over the legal limit. From what one shop owner was saying, they are "duty bound by law" or some such thing. Personally id see if anyone on here has a chrono at home and can check it for you. Ive tested quite a few members guns myself, but unfortunately im not near telford. The adjuster on the side can only tweak the power by 2 or 3 lb so I would doubt that would be the cause of you getting a very poor shot count. Id expect its probably something like seals instead. Seals are cheap, so it would pay you to give the gun a full service anyway, esp if you dont know the history of it. You can easily do this yourself with a bunch of allen keys. timmytree
No offence mate but I think you need to contact the bloke you got it from, if he's mucked about with it and you end up paying to put it right it's not much of a bargain. If you get it tested and it's over the gunshop are breaking the law by letting you keep it, that means they do the work or send it to Air Arms, either way it will cost. For a chrono, google "combro" and get one direct from Robin for £40 delivered. Hope you get it sorted. Tim.
cliff 87
I will end up getting the 40 pound one if i can not find anyone by me i dont think it is over but would like to make sure. I do want to change the seals anyway but dont have a clue how to do this, is there any good step by step instructions on th internet on how to do this. just been shooting it, it was on 150bar after 25 shots it has gone down to 100. is that about right
MattF
Can I ask where you are reading the pressure from because if its off the rifles own pressure gauge there not accurate
dan-250
Is it a carbine by any chance ?
cliff 87
yes the bar off the rifle and it is a carbine y ? Edited November 7, 2011 by cliff
dan-250
You don't get many shots from a carbine anyway, maybe 60 to a full 190-200 bar fill. The classic I have gets around 80-90 my dads carbine is tops of 60 shots, and that's when it was at 9.5ft/lb, Put your gas Bottle on to see if the gun gauge is accurate compare the 2. cliff 87
I will do when i get a bottle lol. My dads friend as a big air compressor for a car garage would that by any good as he is only looking for 70 pound for it.
dan-250
Doubt it will get to the required 200 bar, his garage 1 will be about tops of 15, I work in a machine shop and ours only runs at 7 bar. If you can get the biggest bottle you can, that means less trips to the diving shop. As it's normally only them that have high enough, some only go to 232, you want

No is the answer it will only produce 10 bar at best you are looking for 190 bar for your rifle plus it needs to be clean air which means it goes through filters and is of breathing quality
cliff 87
Thanks i will keep looking for a bottle should of kept mine when i sold my old gun
jackinbox99
One way to check the seals is to pump the gun up, leave it and then see if its lost any charge in a week or so. As others have said, the gauge on the gun isnt 100% accurate, but in all fairness mine isnt too far off. I usually use a pump to pump mine up and use the gauge on the pump. I tend to get it up to 180, and that will easily last me ages. I tend to top it up when it gets down to 100 on the gauge. I cant remember how many shots i get out of it, but its a huge amount. I could easily get 5 or 6 hunting trips out of it. Im sure theres a guide on youtube showing how to strip the s410 down. Its very straight forward. Another thing ive heard of is that theres a trick with giving it a blast from a divers bottle which "reseats" some of the seals or some such thing.
