henry d
I was reading a thread and spyware was mentioned,so I asked a friend if my version of Norton stopped this. Oh how he laughed I didn`t Anyway as I`m a good boy and don`t browse anywhere naughty I only had to delete around 140 bits and bobs of spyware, mainly tracking cookies. I wish that they told you all this when you sign on the dotted line
il cacciatore
Lavasoft Adaware or Spy bot search and destory are the two main programs for ridding your computer of spywares. Also using a firewall helps. Infact you shouldnt be caught not using a firewall.

dazza
I installed it a couple of months ago, it's completely useless
Dunkield
The older version of Norton found Spyware but didn't remove them. We use Norton Corporate at work so of course I also use that at home The newer versions find and remove. To get rid of spyware you can download the MS Antispyware tool as it finds/removes a lot the stuff the others leave behind You can get it here if you to use it: Antispyware
Baldrick
I found Norton 2006 absolutely awful. A real waste of money. I had to reinstall Windows after installing Norton, due to the problems it caused. I'm using Lavasoft and Windows Defender 2 against spyware, and AVG against viruses. Cranfield
I use AdAware which no longer finds anything on its scans..........because I also have Spyware Doctor. This deletes spyware before it reaches your system, Adaware, SpyBot only finds and deletes it once its on your system. There is a free version and although I have the paid for version, the only difference (I think) is you get automatic updates. I also have the free version of SpywareBlaster installed. This also stops spyware getting on to your system.
dazza
I recently paid for Spyware Doctor and have to say it's doing a great job
swiftshot
I've got norton 2006 and eventhough other people seem to be saying its useless i've got nothing but praise for it. Updates like a dream and the firewall never seems to let anything through. Henry
