OvEr_KiLL
ok guys, got my eley olympics 28g 7.5 plastic...i was using some lyalvale express dan arms 28g 7.5 plastic before and they made the barrels very dirty the olympics looks like the barrels have just been cleaned yesterday i was doing DTL and ABT and used a few olmpics and dan arms to compare the recoil and the breaks of the clays. the olympics seem to break the clays better and have a little bit more recoil than the dan arms, so i will be sticking with them from now on... I did try a friends couple of Eley V.I.P 24g 7.5 and they have a lot more recoil than the olympics..we both agreed that there isnt anything better than olympics for that price range
JustJon
How much are the olympics OvEr_KiLL ? I tried superbs but I think they're about £200/1000 ?

COACH
Hull Comp X in 21g or 28g. Very little recoil and a decent price. I get to use just about all of them over the course of a year by doing reviews and shooting clients cartridges etc and I still can't find a better completely all round cartridge. Thunderbird
I like Eley Olympic plastic. Good cartridge IMO

I've used a lot of both and have found the 24g VIPs to be VERY soft on recoil
HDAV
CompX smell funny eley first smell much better! Eley VIP look nice and feel smooth, G&L Compaks are viscous but break clays, eley blues and Olympics work that's about all I have shot recently..... Oh and some super gems The scent is as important as anything else in my book! Edited December 27, 2011 by HDAV

Floating Chamber
I think most folk spend too much time looking up barrels for 'cleanliness' of shells. It reads like the old detergent adverts with fussy women! (Eley must use 'Febreze' in their shells and they leave my hands softer than Brand/CompX!) Thanks, probably pay the extra £20 for the superbs. Can't understand why Eley have so many lines to be honest !?!
Mike525steel
So 200 fps is insignificant :hmm: Back to school for you boys me thinks It's just maths ( physics call it what you like ) take the number and whatever you do to one side do the same to the other

You also need to consider higher velocity = faster slowing of load due to air resistance. Fact is I can be fed (or you can) any old rubbish, shoot the same bird with the same sight picture and destroy it, no matter the speed (within reason). I'll put a grand on it! You've got a good point there. I'm just talking about the fact if you want set yourself up and shoot seriously and consistently It is best to not just buy any old **** and not look at the box, just keep to a sensibly priced cart and keep them them as similar as possible........it's got to breed consistency even if a bit of it does come from confidence in what you shoot
chrispti
Take note Ed, if you want to start shooting seriously
