colin lad
Do you realise that you need to get the gun re-proofed by shortening the barrel? Same with screw-cutting the barrel etc etc yes mate but as it was only a few quid as it was a project if i want to get rid of later i will just scrap it colin
welshwarrior
Just patterned mine an it is all well within a 30" circle at 20 yards. I would not want to loose all the choke tho 1/2 would be about right I think looking to use fourlong 21/2 no 7s I think!

subsonicnat
Hi Colin Lad, old trick some people used was MIX Petrol with PETROLEUM JELLY and Brush it on, tape off the Barrel around it; (Let It Dry).. It will after a good while Flake, but will NOT Rust for quite some time, then get it off and do it again. SIMPLE>: Colin: lol.

steve_b_wales
I intend to so the same to a very old S/B folding .410. The stock is damaged, but I 'repaired' it. The barrel is 27" long and I intend to cut it down to just over 24". The shotgun will be used for humane dispatch of foxes, should the need arrise after they have been shot with my rifle/s. I've only ever had 2 that were not killed instantly, and shooting them again at close range with a CF rifle was not ideal, and could be dangerous. Scully
Wont just cleaning it every now and then prevent it from rusting? I realise this thread is over 6 months old,but one thing caught my eye.If anyone else does this, there is no need to re-proof at all. If,in the event you find someone wants to buy it off you,you simply write it on their ticket as 'given'.As long as no money changes hands you're in the clear.
