Dekers
I should have known this was going to be awkward, having owned a semi shotgun for years! I'm after your little tips and tricks, how do you go about cleaning the action and barrel on your .22 Semi? Cheers Edited January 8, 2012 by Dekers

Thanks for that, I was thinking more in terms of tips and tricks for keeping the action clean/clear/smooth on a regular cleaning basis, rather than a complete strip/clean. Or do you follow/suggest the above every clean? This is the first .22 semi I have owned, so this cleaning malarkey is all new to me, what a pain! Imperfection
My little CZ511 is easy to clean-i dont touch the barrel at all so thats reduced it already.I seperate metal from wood (so i can see inside the workings),spray WD40 or gun cleaner into the action and then use cotton buds to remove all the muck.I dont over oil it either and just use a tiny amount because it just gives the soot somewhere sticky to build up. Paddy Galore!
i found that a toothbrush is ideal for cleaning out the action, then cotton buds.
39TDS
Gunsmith that fixed mine one time told me to take the action out and give it a swill round in some diesel. I never did it as I reckoned it would stink to high heaven. I don't doubt it is a good policy otherwise. He was a great gunsmith.
feaks
For a deep clean on the 10/22 i take out the trigger unit and bolt then spray them and receiver with Abbey Degreasing spray. After a good wipe and poke with cotton buds i put everything back and give the moving parts a squirt of GT85 ptfe spray. As with most rimfires the barrel gets done when i can be bothered. Spook
I made the mistake of using some carb&injection cleaner on a 1022 that I had been given that I don't think had ever been cleaned and wouldn't fire two shots without jamming, did an amazing job of the action, it came up like new! But the tiny amount I got on the wood dissolved the finish
