haggis
What make of glasses do people use/recommend? Has anyone been to specialist at Bisley camp? Thanks Haggis-4-eyes!
EdSolomons
I've used prescription Oakley flak jackets for several years and they haven't done me any harm! Great bits of kit
Iggy
When I needed some I went down the 'el cheepo' route. Had my eyes tested at Specsavers last spring when they were doing their 'buy one pair get another pair free as prescription sunglasses' - I just made sure I chose large (un fashionable = cheaper!) frames to give a good field of vision. They made up a pair in dark grey for very bright days and a pair with an orange tint which I use the rest of the time. I had to pay another tenner for the orange tint but in total I got two pairs of prescription shooting specs for under £90. I know these wont be as good as the 'proper' jobbies like Ed suggested, but at my level (enthusiastic C class) I'm very pleased with them and my scores have certainly benefitted from being able to actually see the targets Im sure they dont offer the same degree of protection as specific shooting specs, but the lenses are impact resistant etc. Hope this helps. Iggy.

Yes, I've had several pairs of Zeiss glasses from Stewards, (they're actually based in Bristol), they're good glasses, but they're not cheap, expect to pay £250 - £300 per pair. You get what you pay for with glasses. Cat.

Iggy. The only thing is that those won't be safety spectacles. If I were to get some I would like many go for Oakley. I have just ordered some (non-prescription but available in prescription) Oakley Fast Jackets - easily interchangable lenses for different light levels. seeker
I'm using the ESS with frame insert... they work. There is another chain of opticians advertising prescription shooting glasses, they have a branch in Newmarket ... and elsewhere . just can't remember the name, but prices looked more reasonable www.spectacularopticians.co.uk/shooting-vision-specialists.php Edited January 10, 2012 by seeker
