First squirrel shoot of year

Went out first light last thursday with the shotgun and a pocket of cartridges around our pheasant shoot. Was not expecting much having shot a lot last year but after only two hours, and having only three cartridges left, came away with 14. Two were left lodged up in the forks of trees. I managed three left and rights, and took eight in the space of ten minutes from a row of hardwood trees. Looks like other PW members have been hitting the greys hard too :good:

nice total. Do you have large numbers on your shoot at the moment? or were you going on the off chance?

I shot 302 last year, all with a shotgun. Best day was 30 to my own gun in about four and a half hours. Often get between 8 and 12 per outing. I keep hammering them but they do seem to keep coming back. Got some fenns now in order to help my war against the grey devils

AWESOME - there must be a hell of a lot of greys in your part of Devon. Thankfully, we only have reds here but one grey appeared about 15 months ago from we know not where and it was instantly despatched by a visiting P/W member!

If everyone was as active and accurate as you.... and a nice touch to see that you pick up your empty shells too!
