Farmer-of-the-Futre
Hey all, I want to fit a bipod to my air arms s410 carbine. I will go for either a harris or deben pod with the sling stud attachment. But first, i need to attacch a stud into the stock. Now, this s410 is housed in a lovley walnut stock with fine rosewood caps on the forend and pistol grip.. blah blah blah.. But i reckon the benifits of a bipod will overrun the fact that i have got to drill into the beutifull stock. So, when it comes to drilling, do most gun shops do it? If not do i have to drill a pilot hole first then screw in the stud by hand? And lasty, how do i get it straight!? Haha. Cheers, Matt

The Air Gun Center in Rayleigh will do it for you but then again most gun shops will. Have a word with your local gun shop. Whilst your in there get a bottle of matt stock oil and start to palm it into the stock. It brings the grain up a treat.
Farmer-of-the-Futre
Thats not too far away but my more 'local' store, where i bought the gun is Eastern Sporting. Ive got to go in to get some pellets on the weekend so i will have a look for the oil and ask about the pod! Cheers
Dekers
If you dont know how to drill straight dont do it take it to a gun shop Deershooter Its not that i don't know how.. I just dont trust myself! Haha, Any other suggestions? Just do it , man up and drill it ...... If your in doubt get a gunsmith to do it! ALL of the above... Well, I do plenty of DIY and have no issues with the drill normally, but it still made me nervous when I went at my Walnut Skeleton stock..... .....do lots of measuring and checking and start with a MUCH smaller pilot drill bit. Hey, just be careful out there! Edited March 14, 2012 by Dekers
Farmer-of-the-Futre
Cheers Dekers. Im off to the gun shop this weekend hopefully and might just take the stock with me to see. If not i might have to 'dig in' myself, haha! Its a make or break sort of situation and i dont want to mess it up! I might have a practice on some old planks first to get my eye in
