Basically done (Howa)

well i put the 1st coat of oil on the stock today (1st of many i expect)

 

The oil has taken very nicely indeed and im chuffed with the wood ive got on the stock (the pictures dont do it justice)

 

As for the rest of the gun...... i am having the trigger sorted in the next week, and im down the range on the 30th july so can try some hotter loads then. ready for the 5th aug :good:

 

very happy boy now :good:

 

Also just got a work experiance placement in Chris Potters :good:

yes its going to be a tough week.... trying not to buy anything :oops:

 

looking forward to it, will also pick up a new rear base for the Howa so i can get the rear scope mount a little further back from the center.

Very nice lump of timber there Nick, it has that Tiger stripe grain like the CZ one from Richards that I sold Apparently the one I kept has more 'character' according to mrs stuartp :good:

 

Are you using Tru Oil?

I bought some of that to re-furb my Laminate Tikka stock but just can't bring myself to strip the varnish off it at the moment :good:

its an ok scope..... just dont go much past 18x unless you want to be disapointed :good:

 

got my eye on a nightforce next :good:

 

Go for the best Nick, S & B, that way you want get skint buying cheap scopes. :D
