Greenhunter
You wood be better getting a box of one and a quarter inch brass screws. No 8's are about right and they won't go rusty again. Brass are the best for any door that may need to be removed in the future, Especially if it's an oak door as steel reacts with the acids in the wood and seizes them in for good! bruno22rf
Stainless or Brass is too weak for any decent door-and I cannot recall seeing pan heads on a hinge? Get a good quality single threaded c/s woodscrew and pilot the hole then put margarine on the thread before driving it home.

Big Marty
In the past for handles I can't get a match for I put in a screw as close as I could find and hit the head with Black nail polish or White car touch up paint or Gold touch up paint etc..... Honest you'll never know.
