sako751sg
Havent pulled the barrel through for about 2 years but if the weather is damp the rifle obviously gets a good wipe down and light oil.In that time its fired around 200 rounds. telf
i am totally the opposite,i clean the barrel and mod after every outing, the barrels get patches through till clean and the mod stripped and washed and left to dry then a couple of rounds to warm the barrel when i go out atb dave
bedwards1966
.17HMR and .22-250? I've a .243 which isn't that different from a .22-250, it gets a pull through every time it's fired a few shots (or if it gets very wet and might have water down the barrel), leave it too long and the accuracy can suffer, clean it thoroughly and it might require a 'fouling' shot to make it mucky so it shoots on target. On a .17HMR, people's views seem to vary, I don't have one but would probably pull it through every couple of hundred shots, to keep it from getting filthy. I think most just clean when the accuracy suffers, but people's experiences differ. Oh, many people think it's sensible to remove the moderators when in the cabinet, to avoid condensation ruining the barrel, for the time it takes to do so it's probably a good idea. 39TDS
I cleaned my .22 about 300 shots ago. It has just started to shoot right again. I won't ever clean it again. Bought new in 1969 and in my hands will shoot sub 1" groups at 45yds.
Bear68
Pretty much clean my 6.5x55 each time it's been fired. If I'm out again in a few days, I'll just put some dry patches through it, if not, it gets a full clean with wipe-out accelarator and patch-out; these don't seem to affect its zero. Beretta28g
If you have a new rifle you will have to shoot and clean it in. http://www.border-barrels.com/articles/shoot-in.htm
RC45
If I had bought something like an AI at about £8k, I might be tempted to look after it. The only thing I do is clean the breach with a solvent and rub it down. When the gun is knackered, I will get another one
1066
6Br, .308, 6.5x284,.357 every time they are used - .22 every year, needed or not
