dunganick
Okay unfortuantly i havent been able to get hold of pictures of enough anti's to go with the above target, so i thought we might settle for the below: Rules: Rifle owners: 100 yards, All shots must be touching the body of animal, 5 shots to count, must be shot in under 5 mins. 200 yards, All shots must be on the A4 page, 5 shots to count, must be shot in under 5 mins. ------ Non Rifle shooters: 100 yards, All shots must be on the A4 page, 5 shots to count, must be shot in under 5 mins. 200 yards, All shots must be on the A4 page, 5 shots to count, must be shot in under 5 mins. ------ Smallest group wins in each class and range. Front and rear rest allowed but no higher than 12x mag on your scopes. Prizes: To be decided.... idea's please. ------ I will also try and run a sporting competition with a full size deer target. Possibly both 100 and 200 yards. inward scoring, 2 shots prone with rest, 2 shots sitting with sticks, 2 shots kneeling with sticks, 2 shots standing with sticks, 2 shots off a bench with no rest/bipod only a sporting sling as an aid. Same 2 classes again. ------ Will Also be requesting a 50bird comp on the clays and ask them to score it and make sure we all shoot the same stand. This will be the 1st round of the Pigeon Watch S/E clay shoot series. Butt marking will be worked out on the day, but basically everyone will need to take turns and if marking a comp will need to understand how to mark it (bench rest targets will be taken down and groups measured). There will be radio's but no doubt they will break or someone will be on our channel...... so thats bound to be chaos. Any questions or suggestions? Snotty
How does it work on the Siberia ranges, I've been there often enough but never shot it. Don't think they allow human shaped targets, not sure about animals, how about cammo on the firing line? They have those wind up and down targets. Do we need a volunteer to do the winding, targets, stick over the hole patches, walky talky etc? Snotty
dunganick
they have a counter weight target board. I am not certain about human figures, hense why the figure 11 is used (because it dosent really look like anything) I have shot Goat targets on 200 with my rifle club and the BSRC for several years without problem. Camo clothing is not actually allowed, however when you go there almost everyone is wearing it, so i shouldnt worry about that. In 5 or 6 years ive never once been asked about it. We do need people to be in 'the butts' and 'butt mark' for us, but if people can just volunteer to do this throughout the day then it will mean no 1 person gets stuck doing it. Walkie talkies should be provided by the range office, esspecially as we have 4 lanes. (it is possible to get to the butts whilst people are shooting, incase that was what you were woundering)
apbuild
Nick and the guys, We usually take turns to butt mark, if I can call it that in this day and age, at timed intervals so that we can all shoot. I will bring a decent set of radios for the day so we can communicate from lane to butt. Rob.

I am happy to score for all those poor shots LB we will try and work it so that everyone takes their turn at the butts and no one gets no shooting, it might be best to get into groups of 4 or 5 and take it in turns to mark (so 1 team marks whilst 3 shoot) do 45mins at a time or something. We will play it by ear though. In the morning i will bring along hundreds of targets and number them all, and plaster the board with targets, if someone is particually intrested in the group then they can radio for the target to be removed and have their name put on it. Snotty
> Im certain there will be a que to try some of your stuff Dangerous stuff, dabbling in the dark arts, can be strangely addictive I already have 100 Minie balls in .577" for the Enfield, have to cast up some .451 suppositories for the deer rifle and .615 balls for my new toy. I'm going to load it nice and tight, must remember to bring a mallet to start them with

Snotty
> what sought of kick do they give. That rather depends on how much powder you put in and whether you remember to remove the loading rod Black powder is surprisingly gentle on the shoulder. Fairly heay guns, low velocities and wide butt plates, more of a push than a kick
flash
so how many times have you left the loading rod in, and is it impressive. cheers flash
Snotty
> so how many times have you left the loading rod in, and is it impressive. Just the once when I was learning, it was memorable I was ramming with a piece of dowel. Since then all my range rods have a lump on the end which blocks the sights
