Went foxing tonight again with the .243 left home at quarter past ten and got back at about half 12

Shot 6 but only picked 5 up........2nd shot was at a fox over 200 yards away and i thought i had hit it clean  i reloaded again and looked through the scope to see it crawling away, it made it into a standing crop and was never seen again. Going back in the morning with dogs to find it. I don't think it will be going far judging by the mess the 75 grain Vmax's do to foxes.

6 in one night, good going.

I ran out of ammo  Only had 6 left and my mate never had his .223 with him

Saw 2 more foxes on the field where this pic was taken

I've been today to get some more 75G Vmax but they aint got none in stock  I came away with a box of 65 grainers so i'm gonna try and sort a load out for them now.

Deadeye Ive will have to shoot a few if he gets a night off work

You were,nt kidding then once the crops are cut ;) ...........Them v- max are certainly opening them up mate  ..........Good luck retrieving the one that got away ........it happens to the best of us

i know its dead mate but how the hell it made it into the crop is beyond me....I heard the thump when the bullet hit it and just assumed it was flat out

It could not have gone far.

We haven't covered much land yet and the farmers were finishing off some fields last night that we haven't had a look at yet (coz i ran out of ammo  ) Let me know as soon as you can make it out for the night........bring plenty of ammo too :o

Almost shot a Tramp once that decided to sleep at the side of a path in a bush. The land was infested with rabbits and that night i was shooting long range rabbits with the .22/250

"Luckily i spotted him just a few feet behind the rabbit i was about to shoot :rolleyes:

Cheers Magman/markbivvy

I'm out after them again in the next day or so i'll post pics.

I have run out of 75grain Vmax bullet heads and could only get 65 grain heads today so i have either got to use my mates peashooter (.223) or sort a new load out pretty quick

mates peashooter (.223)

this is one peashooter i would not like hitting me at the back of the head.

It wouldn't hurt............ it would just bounce off :sick: .223's are very over rated :D:)

Not to rise to the bait of course ...........But you could end up eating your hat

Have you tried ringing Simpsons of Shephed for ammo
