CPSA South East Intercounties at Southdown

Recommended Posts

Southdown staged the third England Sporting Selection Shoot and Intercounties last weekend, a cracking shoot and must be one of the biggest outside the majors, i will try to get the full Intercounties results up but once again Cheryl Hall showed just how good she is on this ground, her 97 was a stunning score, the conditions on Monday were a lot better than Sunday...

A foot note here was i came within a target of George some years ago and he made a scene that if i ever beat him it was time to quit the game.... I wonder if he will keep to his word.

I just hope that Southdown continue to put on enjoyable shoots for all shooters and not go as Westfield and Coniston did and think that because its a major, set the course for the elite of this sport, my score just goes to show that given a level playing field you can beat the Digweeds and Hustwaites of this sport....Fitasc learn't that, thats why all the overseas majors are full....I hope they set the same standard in the English Open Sporting being held there shortly .

Having just won the first 3 selection shoots and being favorite to make the Home International Team for the second time in English Sporting, the last time believe it or not was 1980, how time flies.

Yes, have to agree with Ed, it was a good shoot, I straighted the long L/R midi crosser, :D , but missed all 5 of the L/R Chandelles a stand or two back up the lane, how sad is that..

Den's cracking score of 95 just goes to prove that old age, combined with years of self abuse, are no barrier to putting in the odd blinder, perhaps there's hope for me yet..??

Cheryl's 97 was absolutely superb, I know she also shot brilliantly at the Sportrap first thing, so she must have shot that 97 in the pouring rain and driving winds that set in late morning, an awesome performance... :good:

The targets were good, let's hope they get a good entry for the English at the end of the month.

The only thing I found a bit odd was the amount of mud there, I've shot that ground since the day it opened, and I've never seen so much mud in the car park or down the lane. Could it be the quad bikes dragging it in on their tyres, it certainly surprised me to see it so muddy..?? :hmm:
