hendersons
Nick, if you have to drink canned beer there are better options than that now. London Pride or Tribute out of cans is acceptable. I just can't help myself. One of my pals used to work In the brewery and got plenty of cheap ones for us to drink.
margun
I'll add my vote to Sharp's Doom Bar and St Austell Tribute (had a tour round the St Austell brewery this week, got lathered ). From the barrel Hopback Summer Lightning and Hopdaemon Incubus, or Gadds No3 from Ramsgate . You can get the Gadds and Hopback bottle conditioned but it's never as good. Best bottled beer I've had for ages is Old Golden Hen.

The bloke in the St Austell brewery said that canned Tribute is actually closer to the pump than the bottled stuff, can't remember exactly why, must have been some additive or something. NickS
Variety is the spice of life.... I try all sorts and, after a few, can never remember what I liked and what I didn't anyhow. I once had a theory that if. You drank enough Newcastle Brown you could become immune to its effects. Trust me when I say you need considerable more capacity than I had if you wish to repeat the experiment (all in the name of science you understand). London Pride, Old Speckled Hen, Spitfire are all good for home drinking. Lager-wise I like the US East Coast beers - Yuengling Premium and Sam Adams Boston Lager. Waitrose have a pretty good selection of regional beers in bottles if you want to experiment. Nick
