Ten bores

I quite fancy a change of ten bore and I was wondering if anyone had any experiences with the above two guns? I quite fancy the O/U Lincoln if I'm being honest but I'm still snooping the Internet for reviews. What's the going rate roughly for both guns? I've had a look on G.Trader and so on but the prices vary quite a lot! 600ish about right?

Thanks in advance :good:

Thanks very much for the reply! I think I'll go for one if I can find one at the right monies..need to handle one first though to see that it fits. My only other question is whether you have found the gun prone to rusting or the blueing coming off? I'm pretty sure I've read that a couple of times?

Cheers again! :good:

to be fair it's being used either on a marsh or foreshore, any gun will rust in the damp especially if it's also a tad salty

No issues with rust but I did manage to get blood on the barrels which have marked them, as said above any gun used on the marsh will be more prone to corrosion/rust than most other guns, you just need to give em a little more care.

Which plane of barrels do you shoot better with?

I didn`t shoot well with a SBS so personally would have preferred the Lincoln, but now we have 3 1/2" 12 bore semis and they fill the gap well. Get a real gun, like a single 4?

I definitely prefer the O/U but can manage with a sbs. I think the Lincoln seems like a good move and haven't found too much negative about them.

A 4 would be sweet but the guns themselves are a fortune!! Do you not get a bit 'bored' of the 3 1/2 twelve? I've got one but you need a proper gun to slay a goose

If you are still going to Winkies at the weekend, he has got a 10 bore AYA aswell as a couple of Browning Golds both new and second hand you could look at

Had a look on his gun list and you're right enough, I'll have a look at them when I pop in :good:

If your still looking for a Lincoln then there is one on gunstar for £725 I think if it's any help to you.

Cheers! I'll take a look at that, only really browse through Gtrader. There was one on there in good nick for £500 but ya snooze ya loose!

For around £900 you can get a Browning Gold Semi auto. There are also ather makes of 10 gauge like Kestrel and Zambala! I could also recommend a Ugartechea 10 gauge. My dad had one and had no problems with it :good:

Thanks! I haven't heard much about the Ugartechea. Will take a look at the brownings but I don't know if I like the thought of loosing cases that I want to reload due to a semi auto :/ I've tried a Kestrel but didn't hugely fancy it.

Anyone tried the SP10?

Cheers again!
