scimitar
I am in the middle of planning a trip to NI and the PSNI need details of my gun storage arrangements. Has anyone else visited NI and what arrangements did you make. The place I am staying doesn't have any firearm storage.

P~MX
A.A.Monteith & Sons gun dealers (RFD) are in Omagh they might help you out, I don't know them personally though, T.Beattie Guns & Ammo in Dungannon are about 40 miles away from Omagh - Tommy might help you if your stuck but it's a bit far - I would say if you called the PSNI (Police) in Omagh they could hold your guns for safe keeping over night - I've did that in the past myself away from home. Gee.
I have just applied for a permit with them (beginning of last week) and put down on the form that I would be storing them either at the local clay shooting ground or securely at the place im staying. Will let you know what they say when they get back to me if it helps.

chappers83
If your traveling by car, i think but dont quote me on it a vehicle safe might be acceptable. But of course thats a fair outlay for single visit.

compo90
as said before if ur stuck just give the psni a ring in omagh they will keep them over night for you i think that would be the best option, if they will help and store them in a police station safe, you could also then pick them up 24/7 as with a gunshop you are stuck with their opening hours. Not sure that they need an armoury, most main stations (where i work) have a firearms safe in the station office for found and seized weapons.......didn't know whether the psni would assist and allow the use of that safe. Pastiebap
Being an armed force means that all PSNI stations have an armoury. However, civilian firearms may only be accessible to FEOs. If you call Omagh station and chat to the FEO there he should be able to help, I know him and he's a good lad.
