30-6
Got one from the s410 FAC from Sportsarm, a DOSKO. Ok, but would not buy one again, I have since bought a very thickly padded gunslip and tend to use this more.
verminer
Does anybody know where I can get a plastic shotgun case on-line? Cheers They are a waste of money unless you are planning to take your guns abroad on a shooting holiday
Cranfield
Its amazing how many are left in the back room of Gunshops, after people have bought their new gun. Thats where I have always left mine. Once you get them home, you never use them again and they don't fold flat.
Highlander
I disagree, I have cases, metal and plastic for all my guns. When chucked in the back of a wagon it's the onmly way to keep them from harm. If travelling long distance then I'd say they are essential and you can't travel abroad without them (locked and bolted).
henry d
I could have done with one for travelling to Bisley. Ever tried to visit the service station loo with a rifle and a shotgun in slips over your shoulder
Cranfield
I wouldn't disagree that the hard nature of the case will certainly protect the gun better than a canvas gun slip, but its not any more secure, as you can still pick it up and run away with it. When I have guns in my vehicle, I am satisfied that if they are out of sight and the vehicle is locked and immobilised, that is acceptable security. When I shoot abroad, I always use "local" guns, so transported my weapons by air has never been an issue.
Dunkield
I just flogged the one I bought on here, I think they are great for the car, but I just couldn't trust it for taking my rifle on a plane (Baldrick feel free to say 'I told you so') I have got one of those machine mart ones for my up coming trip, even though the organiser said ABS is fine as long as it is locked. I leave my guns in the car, if I take a break on a long journey as long as they are well out of site and I have the bolt(s) with me.
Baldrick
I told you so. Metal gun cases are the way ahead.
