Hi as the title suggest I'm having a prob with the butt of my gun as I mount it it seems to stick as I slide it up my jacket thus moving my jacket with it is there any inexpensive way of sorting this problem it think the base of the butt is too smooth and mess roughing up some how

Any idea ?

Are you mounting the gun properly? If you mount with a 'see-saw' action instead of pushing the muzzle out towards the target, then you can often catch the heel in your clothing.Your gun needs to be coming into the shoulder more or less horizontal.I realise it sounds awkward, but isn't with practise;it just takes repetition so you do it automatically; even starting muzzles up as you would while waiting on a peg,you drop the muzzles down to just below the birds flightline and push with your grip hand simultaneously, then slide the gun horizontally back into the shoulder.

You can practise with a very exaggerated push initially, which becomes shorter and faster with time, and ensures a snag free mount even with your winter woolies on.

sounds like your stock is definatly too long & with maybe the wrong pad too, firstly I'd take your pad off completely and shoot a few birds with it like that, this way you'll know if your stock is too long, if it is and it's comfortable without your pad have your shock trimed off the tickness of your pad or replace your old pad with an Isis pad -- they come in 11mm upwards in right and left hand, Isis pads are the best pads you could ever put on your gun, I have them on all 6 of my guns - even my new Perazzi has one now .
