Barrel fluting

If you get it done make sure that whoever does it has got a miller that'll do the entire length of the barrel in one sweep, I saw one that had been done from either end and there was a tiny step in the middle where the flutes didn't meet perfectly. They had blended it but it was still a mis-match ....I couldn't have lived with it, if it was mine I would have stuffed it up their ****.

Personally I wouldn't bother getting it done and would save the cash and put it towards re barreling it with one already done in the future.

I think this is where the smart money is :good:

Have a chat to Lee at border barrels... he'll put you straight, seems an honest enough bloke and no B******t

The reasoning behind the thinking is my rifle is very slightly barrel heavy.

It's purely a hunting rifle, I will never shoot the barrel out

I <may> more likely may not, get it threaded at some point

Its super accurate and I don't want to jeopardize that in any way.

I will do some weights instead :)

Could you not add some weight to the butt instead,to balance it better?

Good suggestion, but although it is barrel heavy it is an overall weight thing really

Is shortening the barrel an option?

Yes possibly, that would be a when/if it gets screw cut thing.

Not sure how much barrel 6.5's need to be honest.
