P03
What makes my blood boil is not the fact that there are so many people on benefit (deseved or not), but that the system always seems to make it easy for the non-deserving cases whilst the widowed mother/father with young kids to feed is lucky to get enough to nourish his kids properly let alone buy scratch cards or holidays. We've all seen on TV or read/heard about the perfectly able bodied people with 15 kids, 10 dogs and a goldfish who won't work only because they'd have to take a pay cut. Its the intolerable incompetence of those that administer the benefit system that ultimately cause outrage because they work unbendingly to a set of rules that are hopelessly out of date. ziplex
Pav, as many have stated you're on the rung of the ladder, it may be the first one but time flies mate and before long you'll be very pleased you took the plunge. I'm 42 and we decided to buy, after years of rented accomodation, just 8/9 years ago and while we're not in as good a position as many we aint complaining atall. You've made a wise choice. Lord Geordie
i have read these posts with great interest, and can say there is many different storys out there.i was lucky and when i was 21 bought my first home and nuckled down and stayed out the pub most of the time i sold it for 3 times wot a payed for it , lady luck was watchng over me i then bought the house i live in today. boring you say but my grump is that we now have two lovely kids sara 4 and andrew 2 wots he on about right its like this family tax credits, =cash for child care etc fine, but because i under estimated my earnings for last year im now one of 100s having to pay back a large some of money ie 1400 quid this is poo as this is = to a months wages or there abouts the reason for earning more was far more over time than exspected so this now tells me to work less and claim more the system is all rong for these credits as i see it so as i see it if i took a month of last year i would of had lots of time to shoot pigeons and lots of time to spend with the kids and mrs, and still be as well off can you see my point and anyone else in the same position cheers and thanks for reading kirky Yeah like the TV said "we pay upto 75% of your childcare costs to help you back into work" I was already IN work and guess how much they actually paid in reality?? They paid £5 a week Now last time I went to school £5 was NOT 75% of £87!!!!!!! Anyway i am gonna dart off as My Kid needs to go to School LG
