Harkila boots and John Norris

I bought a pair of Harkila 'Big Game GTX' boots in November 2011 in a promotion at J.Norris', and was very happy with them until a particularly wet spell last month when both boots started to leak through the heels. As I couldn't find the receipt(careless,as I'm self-employed and keep all receipts)I tried the Harkila website thinking Norris' wouldn't be interested.Couldn't get anywhere on Harkila's website so phoned Norris' and explained the problem and asked if they could get me in touch with the rep'.The nice lady on the phone said I could return the boots to them and they would take care of it,even without a receipt.

In less than a week I received a letter stating that the boots were irrepairable and as they couldn't replace them due to being discontinued they were willing to issue me with a credit note or vouchers to the tune of the promotional price...£105.Wasn't expecting that.

Had a gander on the website and found another promotion on Harkila Pro Hunter GTX 'Kevlar' boots;RRP £239,on offer for £145.Happen to be working in Penrith this week so called in this morning and paid £40 and came away with a pair.

A big,big thankyou to both Harkila and John Norris'.Now that's what I call customer service.

Its good that they do it,but we should expect nothing less given the amount we pay

for our gear really !

I agree with what you say ,but it is good to here the good points about peoples experiences with retailers because we usually only here the bad ones,

I also use John Norris and have always found them very good on prices and returning goods

Same happened to me bought a pair of Le Chameau Mouflon Plus boots from John Norris and after 6 months they started to leak on the heal, phoned John Norris and the very nice lady arranged for a courier to pick then up the next day at no cost to myself.

2 days later a new pair arrived.

Spot on service from John Norris

Cheers Mark
