Ruairidh
Hi I am looking for a pickup with a drop tailgate . one which ges right down so a pallet can be loaded, looked at the Amoral and the Navar but they have no facilty to drop the tail so you cant get to close with the forks and I know it'll end up being damaged. Cant seem to find any info on the net as all the websites are trying to sell you are caravan or boat pulling machines! Looking to buy a new one Thanks for your help! White Lodge
I can drop the tailgate on my Ranger by undoing the two retaining cables, just take the wieght of the gate and turn the cables through 90`. Once they are both off the gate drops down. Just reverse the process to put it back together.
BRAD1927
L200 same as ranger
guss109
L200 same as ranger Think alot of the newer ones have a metal bar instead of the wire but think you can change them to the wire. My last 2 L200s have had the folding bar if you have a load liner just push the pallet in with the toes
al4x
I'm not sure you get a standard pallet between the wheel arches on a l200
White Lodge
Sideways maybe?
al4x
Yup but the side of pallets usually doesn't have holes so you can pick it up with a forklift

landrover
the l200 tailgate drops right down with the steel bars, take the weight off the tailgate then unclip the bars
four-wheel-drive
Its no big deal to remove the bars and put two chains on I would have thought you can always put them back on when you want to sell it on.
Dr_evil
if you're using pallets you want a fender
gixer1
if you're using pallets you want a fender 130 A Vw amorak also takes a standard ISO pallet.

Lord Geordie
Yup but the side of pallets usually doesn't have holes so you can pick it up with a forklift pallets can be lifted from the side as well as the front. Also if done right and with a liner the pallet can be put in then pushed the remainder and also pulled out using the same method. Forks half in and lift with a little tilt. Bring back to the tailgate. Lower! Lose the tilt and heel up of the pallet. We have to do this as half the wagons come with the pallets shunted in 3 foot short of the doors. Dr_evil
A Vw amorak also takes a standard ISO pallet. I likes Amoraks 150 is the best version so I'm told
Ruairidh
Thanks for all the info, I like the Amorlks best to, although the gearbox on the demo I had was pants. Second gear crunched as it went in. I was told it was because the first ones made has American boxes in them not the German ones going in now. The resale value is also best on Amoraks so its a big shame their tailgate. Thanks for all your comments
