Muddy Funker
Yes, Bought sky hd box off the bay to connect to existing dish and cables. Works great however, no record or pausing of live tv it's watch only. Unless I'm missing a trick? I think you can pay a small fee to sky £10? To allow pause and record ect,,,
Markr
You can get freesat for free through a dish You can also use a box called skybox f3 search ebay for details

huffhuff
Leave the dish as it points to the same satellite. You'll need a freesat box. Completely remove the sky box. Humax freesat is (or was) the best. All the functions of sky+. You can record two programmes at once, series link, pause, rewind...all that jazz
Gimlet
I've got Freesat. I've had Freeview in the past through a digital aerial and it gave me more channels than I get now with Freesat. While its debatable whether you want Dave and Virgin and such like you won't get them with Freesat, I wish Sky would let you compile your own channel package rather than paying for dozens of channels you don't want just to get the few you do. Markr
try 1 of these but before you but check the seller can offer you a "free gift pakage" ??? that way you get lots of channels just like off sky great full 1080 HD as well http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SKYBOX-F3-HD-3-PIN-UK-PLUG-HDMI-ORIGINAL-UPGRADE-OPENBOX-S11-S10-S9-/130826570432?pt=UK_Sound_Vision_Satellite_TV_Receivers&hash=item1e75df0ac0 Edited January 26, 2013 by Markr
bsaben
You will need two feeds from the lnb on the dish to record and pause live tv unlike freeview. Freesat and sky both use the same satellite, astra 28.2°
