leeboy
My shooting partner has just had his FAC granted yesterday. He has been granted .22 rimfire and .243 for foxes and deer. Money is an issue and so the rimmy will be bought first. Any suggestions as to a good reliable bolt action .22 that wont break the bank. I've heard that the BRNO guns are supposed to be very good, but I'm not very clued up on this subject. Leeboy
Dead-Eyed Duck
You cannot go wrong with a Brno or CZ. Other choices are a 2nd hand Sako/Anschutz etc. It all depends on what you have to spend. If funds are restricted then I would 100% recommend a 2nd hand Brno or CZ. More rabbits have been shot with these in the UK than any other make of rimmy. Accurate, robust and will last you a lifetime. Bear in mind that buying a decent scope is just as important as the gun. leeboy
Thanks for the response fellas and the excellent offer. My friend bought a new CZ American yesterday afternoon. It looks to be a very nice gun, very light. The bolt is pretty stiff though. Will this loosen with a bit of use ? Tried it with some Eley subsonics and was amazed how quiet it was. What ammo do you guys shoot ? is it even worth trying standard .22lr as opposed to the sub sonics, is there much of an advantage ?
