hi, i went to my friends grandads land where he is a gamekeeper. my friend took me out for a wander round and see if we could get anything. seen a couple of squirrels about but they were far to quick for us. after walking through several fields, we entered one of the woods. the woods were buzzing with pheasants which didnt make it too good for our stalking. any way we looked through the woods seeing a couple of squirrels etc. i quickly saw a squirrel scarper across a track so i followed round the track and saw the squirrel, i raised my rifle to my shoulder took aim and BAM, the squirrel was down- 20 yrds standing ( my first ever live quarry- nice headshot!). to be brief i was extremely pleased, i had been waiting for this moment for ages.i picked him up and decided to leave him on a fence post and my m8 said we would come pick him up later in the pickup.

after that first excitement, i had caught the hunting bug. me and my friend eagerly walked round a field to see what was about. keeping close to the hedge i could see a rabbit in the open about 30 yrds away. i slowly dropped to one knee, raised my rifle and placed the cross hairs between eye and ear, THWACK another addition to my first hunting trip. as i walked up to the rabbit it was a clean kill, no movement. then to my sheer disappointment i saw the rabbit had mixy- poor little ******. although the rabbit had mixy, i was pleased with my second kill. i really enjoyed my first hunting trip and im sure il be back for more. here's some pics

Nice shooting bud.

I have to say.. the way you stood to take the first shot.. and judged the range.. then with the longer second shot... I am well impressed!!!!!

Who taught you how to shoot? they deserve a good pat on the back..... and of course you do as well for taking in the information like you did....

Keep up the great work... we need more like you on the forum....
