Hi,

I've recently been diagnosed with a eye condition so can't work at the moment or get chance to shoot.

Does anyone have a head shot rabbit i can buy of them.

Needs to still have guts head and skin intact, preferably fresh frozen, or put in fridge asap.

Its for my Burmese python. As I've been off I'll i have not been able to shoot, thus she had not had food for a couple of months.

I live in Ipswich Suffolk so ideally anyone local would be great.

If you can help i would be most grateful.

Steve

Hi reptiles don't need food as often as other animals.

Snakes can go up to a year without food. They are very efficient animals when it comes to food.

I think its something like 80 percent of the energy we get from food is used to maintain out body temperature. As snakes don't use energy to maintain their body and move to hot and cold areas to regulate their temperature they can put 100 percent of the energy they get from food into growth.

Feeding wise she normally eats a rabbit I've a month, any more and you risk obesity. That is something that is common with them being kept as pets.

I could try feeding rats but she doesn't like them. Other than that i could try piglets but its trying to get one. The other thing she could eat would be the neighbours cat but i don't think that would go down to well lol. That's why i think its best to keep her on what's she is used to eating and just see if anyone has a spare rabbit lol.

Sorry for the biology lesson, but it is quite interesting.

Hi

I am too far away to help with a rabbit, which is a shame; however, most large pet shops will have frozen rabbits in stock for snakes. If you are struggling to find one locally who sells them - a call to Honeybrooks (http://www.honeybrookfarm.com/contact-us.htm) Will tell you who they supply locally.

I am really surprised that on a shooting forum - nobody local can help you out though.

I don't know if this would interest anyone, but if you wanted to bring the rabbit to me rather than me collect it from your self, you can also handle her and have your photo taken.

This will give people the chance in handling a large constructor. She is very friendly and never been aggressive so you will have nothing to worry about.

I can't imagine many people would get the chance to handle one normally so here's your chance if it interests you.
