FalconFN
Good vid, and double whammy - one less rat and one full hawk. Hopefully the pellet went straight through the rat though, as lead is very toxic to raptors.
Frenchieboy
When I saw the title of the thread I nearly didn't bother clicking on to the thread as I expected it to be a Harris Hawk with jesses on, which would have been nothing out of the ordinary. However, because of my love for birds of prey I had a look, and I an glad I did! The bird must have been really starving to have let you approach it and film it while it was eating. You really caught a treat there with your video! It looks like you did some good in more ways than one - Getting rid of the rat and helping a Bird Of Prey that was almost certainly getting desperate for food. Well done! JDog
I'm not sure that the Sparrow hawk will be out of the woods yet, so to speak. It's plumage looks mottled as if it has had a run in with either a larger bird of prey or collided with a solid object. It may have been injured as well as starving.
