lakeside1000
Just bought the basic AA flapper, but I have a problem getting the end of the wing to stay on the arm, there is a small pin half way along the arm which goes through the leading adge but at the end there is just a rounded hook, anyone had the same problem and how did you fix it,
sitsinhedges
If it is a turbo flapper you just press the hook thru the back of the wing near to the joint, they work perfectly. kdubya
go to an rc model shop get a length of nitro fuel tubing, cut it into 1/4" sections and use them to hold each wing on to the spike cheap as chips . KW
lakeside1000
not the turbo , just the basic, the fuel line tubing is interesting , but the problem is right at the end of the spar it is bent back towards the body in a coat hanger type hook, this hook sits under the wing end flight feathers but has no fixing, I asked AA, they say just wrap a feather around the hook but when you do that the wing just slides back down the spar,
mellors
Or the inside of a biro 1inch long warmed up pushed on till cold then it will do the job every time. make spares as well.

fenboy
Break the wings , mount the bird on the flapper , turn the wings over in a forward direction push hook though wings so its goes from the underside out , then turn the wings back the right way. lakeside1000
done all that but when they flap the end section just folds in so the end of the wire support is showing, ive now done a mod to the wires, instead of the open hook ive closed it to form a ring at the end of the arm, this allows me to wrap a long feather through the ring and tie it off so it cant slide back down the arm. just hope it works as well out in the field as it does in the shed.
