The Ghost
Same Here near March Cambs, odd flock that size but loads of 20 to 100 flying about. You have to work hard to get a good bag but plenty still about....not always on rape fields.
TIGHTCHOKE
Loads of us are in or have been in the same situation! Drilling is starting across the country and the flocks are starting to break up at last.
motty
This will pretty much be the same the whole country over. My advice is to wait a while for the flocks to start breaking up, or keep an eye on alternative crops such as maize, beet tops or spring drillings. One of the reasons they're in such tight flocks is the fact that they keep getting pushed from one field to another. Once pigeons start to feel settled, that's when bags can be made. mrikirkby
I have been out today in Norfolk and they seemed to be splitting a bit but still only managed 3 and picked 2 :(
lakeside1000
I was out on the coast near caister norfolk thursday and saturday , huge flocks in the distance but only odd one or two coming to the decoys, they do seem to be splitting up though, saw several small groups of twenty'ish birds moving around, just waiting for the farmer to start drilling to hopefully bring them within range. Longy0710
Up this end it is very patchy on the rape, however i went for a drive round sunday morning and found lots of birds feeding on clover. Unfortunatley i have no permission with clover but left some cards and may have by this time next week.
