mbga9pgf
Just interested. Are they going to be paying per carcass or will you need to be part of an approved control team?
Reece
Just interested. Are they going to be paying per carcass or will you need to be part of an approved control team? I don't think they'll let anyone take part. Only certain people will, I think. Don't quote me on that though. mbga9pgf
Im in a cull area surrounded by Cattle! Cant believe they are blowing 4 million than this, on teams that will be tracked by the anti's and sabotaged. Surely better to entrust those living locally to do a cull with a means of registering kills? I suppose it would be difficult to specify any scientific method, as I believe this is being used as a trial to attempt to establish a connection between bovine TB and the little *******. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/environment/9898794/Badger-cull-goes-ahead-but-it-will-cost-4m.html Edited February 27, 2013 by mbga9pgf
pboro shot
anything to do with goverment always cost millions there paper chase is unbelievable ,i have to kind of agree with the way its being set up if every tom,**** harry went out and starting culling badgers it would turn in to a free for all not everyone would adere to the rules ,,,,,
Alyshy
Licences have been issued ready for the start of the culling in June.

They will be teams who move about clearing the areas
kyska
And the main reason for that is so the antis can't target your house and family. They will be teams who move about clearing the areas Very good point, I can see the anti's having a criminal element, ALF types who don't have problems with setting cars alight and welcoming you home with a baseball bat, or digging up your dead relatives, like the old days when animal researchers were targeted. Once targeted these people don't let go, you get noted in their network and the attacks become organic. Dangerous people. al4x
The other thing is badgers aren't that easy to cull so there will be a lot of preparation needed to feed them to baiting sites and get them used to it before shooting so there will need to be a pretty good co ordinated approach to it. With high seats and night vision it should be pretty subtle but the animal rights mob are well prepared to aggressively take on and try and intimidate both the shooters and the landowners
Dunkield
Apparently you nee to have passed your BSC1 & 2 before you can't take part
wymberley
It's too late. In addition to the valid points raised by al4x, the first mistake was made in 1973 and has been compounded ever since. In one respect there is no option but to possibly agree with the Badger Action mob of hooligans: perturbation is well documentated and its occurrence with a less than perfect cull regime is highly likely. To get involved in this is to be associated with failure and in such an event, we can expect a reaction from said hooligans the like of which we have never yet experienced. The only cure for this problem will not be a bullet but a needle.
