A Difficult Day in the Snow

I spent most of today out in a hide with howling freezing wind and regular snow showers that at worst presented a complete white out!

Here is the pattern on the Spring Drillings;

And here are 15 of the 17 birds I shot.

The last couple were shot whilst flight lining.

I cant decide if you are brave or foolish but you certainly have my vote, hardiest pigeon shooter of the year, I stuck my head out the door , couldn't see the gate for the whiteout blizzard so went back to bed, took a ride up to the farm after lunch , drove right round looked in every field, not a bird in sight , grounds frozen 'again', howling gale, snow drifting across the new ploughing, the farmer came out to meet me, just mumbled ' too bloody cold for ought ', then went back inside, so it looks like no shooting for a few days at least, forcast is fair for thursday, fingers crossed. :yahoo: :yahoo:

Cheers, I actually had a guest out with me today and have offered him another day as it wasn't the best of days!

The white outs were very weird, not being able to see anything more than about 4 feet, so basically the inside of the hide!

Might go out again tomorrow, last chance before I have to go in to work for 3 days.

Out again at the weekend though!
