NIGHT SEARCHER
Has anybody tried shooting 200 yds with a sub 12 ft ib rifle on here. The air gun gear show has just done it (ie) THE TWIG.Marksman. The vid is on there you tube channel. Cubleycat on you tube did it ages ago shooting a bean tins at 200 yds. She did it using different pellets some just dinted the tins others punctured one side but. Daystate heavies punched right through at 200 yds. You wouldn`t think there would be that much energy left at that range. When you look at the vids you can see the gun must be at 30 to 45 degrees. superspark
What would be the point? At that range with a sub 12lb rifle you would have no stopping power and acuracy would be out the window

At that range with a sub 12lb rifle you would have no stopping power and acuracy would be out the window Because its fun to experiment? I doubt anyone will come along and condone that sort of thing on live prey, what's the harm in pushing your gear to absolute extremes. Some folks may also find it mildly entertaining. fenboy
Whats the point of jumping off a mountain with a parachute strapped to your back , its called taking things to the extreme ----------------------------------because you can

According to chairgun, if its 177, 11.5 ftlbs and zero'd at 30 with daystate 4.51, the drop at 200 yds is just over 26 feet and 0.7 ftlbs of energy!!! Would be fun having a go

GingerCat
Use to shoot a telegraph pole at 250 yards, aimed at the top hit the bottoms, just for fun, all the shot hit ther the pole so accurate, just the drop to contend with
FalconFN
The slightest breeze would move the pellet some way as I imagine the travel time will be around a couple of seconds.
pavman
I once shot a rabbit at 375 yards with a catapult when i was 11 well thats not quite true I was out in the gas works field near my house and was stalking bunnies, the lived in the brambles between the field and the road and one ran away from me and got hit by a car (I was about 375 yards away so counted that on my tally I guess my experiance is similar Edited March 13, 2013 by pavman
goodo123
In ideal situations (no wind, consistent ammo, consistent hold etc) I'd imagine it to be great fun. At that range I'd guess everything would have to be 100% before even thinking about setting a target.
