Spaniel
Hi I have been looking at various bags from a training purpose, and at present i have located a supplier (UK Hand Made product) for the following. To me they look like they do the job well, but i could really do with some feedback on other people opinions please. I went around the Game Fare over the weekend and had a look at all the bags on offer, and they were all just the standard ones you see advertised everywhere. Early days but i am looking at setting up a small business in selling various items (Shooting/ Fishing etc) anyway appreciate some thoughts please
WelshAndy
They look very smart! I'm currently using a game bag and fed up of having to scramble around looking for different items! I'll be interested in a price please
Spaniel
I will send you a PM Andy to give you an idea. One of the reasons why I have looked into this was due to how i have to scramble around for items myself...my standard bag is a pain as everything i want is always at the bottom....lol
fergie
I would also be intrested in the price
cracker
Early days but i am looking at setting up a small business in selling various items (Shooting/ Fishing etc) anyway appreciate some thoughts please Nice idea. Are you going to kit out the bags, too, as above? If so, you've chosen what may be the single worst training dummy - Avery - in the history of retrieving. Shoddy work, hard as a hodful of bricks and just not what a gundog wants to have in its mouth to make it happy going about its work. You might want to look into the DT Systems Soft-Mouth trainer instead. Polar opposite of Avery in every way: pliability, reliability and very soft for enthusiastic carrying - even by a pup. Good luck, MG
ollie
I would be interested in a price too, as it could double up as a bag for decoying. The only thing is, could the inset be changed colour wise? The reason being it would get filthy very quickly with dirty leads and dummys etc.

Good luck, MG No not looking at including training dummies, trouble is if you included them it would push all the costs up including pp i can get a good discount from a canvas dummy supplier but the pp cost as much as the dummy itself.. Spaniel
Size of the bag is approx Width 17" (430mm) Height 15" (380mm) Depth 10" (250mm) The dummies in the picture are full size drake dummies, so you could get a few in there, although i was thinking this would be used more for holding your hats and gloves, starting pistol etc, and keep the dummies fitted to the front pockets
hedge hunter
Hi there mate, thats a cracking bag, excellent idea. Just what im after gor training my new pup up, is it possible to get a price from you please cheers hh
Spaniel
Compared to my original game bag for holding the dummies etc, this one beats it hands down, but this isnt a cheap £20 bag manufactured in China. When i first had the idea about doing something like this, i did take a look on the auction site and i did look at various wholesellers in china, but you get what you pay for, and everyone is out there purchasing low cost items from china to sell as cheap as possible, good luck to them. I am more interested in selling quality items, and hand made in the UK. My supplier as been supplying gun slips, game bags etc to the industry for over 15 years and he supplies to some top companies who i expect will place their own labels on an item and push up the costs..I do want to limit the items i will offer, as I have to purchase a minimum quantity so the last thing i want is stock hanging around, so it is all about getting a feel from people if they think this product is good . DaveyTed
Looks good. Depending on price they could sell well. I think they need to be relatively cheap as I can't see people spending mega bucks on any sort of bag however good. Working Dog Company do a couple - £35 - £40 range with lots of pockets so that could be your price marker. Good luck.
Spaniel
Yes I have seen those advertised and they look good, although the ones i am looking at selling will be approx £7 more expensive in costs but they are a larger bag with various differencies in the style etc, so i am happy that the costs are correct at the present time. PERCE
The majority of gun dog trainers I see tend to wear training vests these days, bags have an awful habit of slipping round you & clonking your dog on the head when you least want it. WGD
Maybe its just me but more pockets = more faffing about. Dummies in the bag (I'm not really fussed which one comes to hand), leads in the netting, pistol in coat pocket, whistle round my neck. More complicated than that I do not wish to be, sorry Iain
cocker boy
I use a game bag from Montrose rope and sail. I don't struggle to find things in there, its only 2 ft long, its not exactly like looking for a needle in a haystack is it?
WGD
Same one I use cocker boy.

kent
Hi I have been looking at various bags from a training purpose, and at present i have located a supplier (UK Hand Made product) for the following. I went around the Game Fare over the weekend and had a look at all the bags on offer, and they were all just the standard ones you see advertised everywhere. Early days but i am looking at setting up a small business in selling various items (Shooting/ Fishing etc) anyway appreciate some thoughts please I just buy a big cheap game bag, it wants to smell of game and live in the shed etc. Even the most basic are just as good maybe better if you use them for a few outings with the gun first and get some blood and muck in them, sheep poo will naturally find its way in off dummies- all these things are good as far as the dogs are conserned. Chuck a few fresh feathers in it when you pluck birds and expect it to last 3-4 yrs of hard use. the advice is about training a dog to work with the gun BTW many now want a dog for "dog sport" In which case you need some expensive clothes, £300 Leather wellies and shiny new pick-up without all the hedge scratches and accumulated crud and dings. Spaniel
Yep thats a bit high isnt it.... What I am doing at the present time is setting up my own OC site and having it hosted etc I am doing this to avoid Ebay costs on my sales, so i can keep the price down. Originally I was looking around £49 per bag plus £3.99 pp So by doing this i am hoping to reduce these costs even further. As soon as I have placed the order and have the goods i will list them for sale, might even be able to save a couple of £s by not paying via Paypal etc, will have to see Thanks Ian
